Microsoft’s Copilot+ features — Recall, Cocreator, Live Captions — run entirely on-device via the 45-TOPS NPU. In our testing, Recall’s semantic search across documents and screenshots is genuinely useful once you get past the privacy implications of indexing your screen.

The ARM caveat

Snapdragon X Elite’s ARM architecture means some x86 apps run under emulation. In 2026, most productivity software runs natively, but niche GPU-heavy tools (certain creative software, older games) still show emulation overhead.

Battery

14+ hours of mixed productivity use is real. This is the longest-lasting Surface Pro ever shipped, and it’s not close.
